Lesson 170
There is no cruelty in God and none in me.
You make what you defend against, and by your own defense against it is it real and inescapable. Lay down your arms, and only then do you perceive it false.
Father, we are like You. No cruelty abides in us, for there is none in You. Your peace is ours. And we bless the world with what we have received from You alone. We choose again, and make our choice for all brothers, knowing they are one with us. We bring them Your salvation as we have received it now. And we give thanks for them who render us complete. In them we see Your glory, and in them we find our peace. Holy are we because Your Holiness has set us free. And we give thanks. Amen.

Lesson 169

Lesson168
Your grace is given me. I claim it now.
His grace is yours by your acknowledgment.
The gift He has preserved within our hearts is waiting to be acknowledged. His gift of grace is more than just an answer. It restores all memories the sleeping mind forgot; all certainty of what Love's meaning is.
Today is a new day. Receive what has been given you. Faith lies in the Giver, not our own acceptance. We acknowledge our mistakes, but He to Whom all error is unknown is yet the One Who answers our mistakes by giving us the means to lay them down, and rise to Him in gratitude and love.
Your grace is given me. I claim it now. Father, I come to You. And You will come to me who ask. I am the Son You love.

Lesson 167
There is one life, and that I share with God.
Life is like the truth. It does not have degrees.
In this world, there appears that life has an opposite, death. You think death is of the body. But it is only an idea that originates from the mind. Ideas do not leave their source. Change your mind about yourself. It is the cause of healing and why you cannot die. The truth is you are one with God.
What seems to be the opposite of life is merely sleeping. It dreams of time. When the mind awakes, it continues as it always was.
Let us be children of the truth, and not deny our holy heritage. Our life is not as we imagine it.
We share one life because we have one Source, a Source from which perfection comes to us. The wakened mind is one that knows its Source, its Self, its Holiness.

Lesson 166
I am entrusted with the gifts of God.
God's trust in you is limitless, giving without exception, holding nothing back that can contribute to your happiness. And yet, unless your will in one with His, His gifts are not received.
Here is the paradox that underlies the making of the world. This world is not the Will of God, and so it is not real. Yet those who think it real must still believe there is another will. Every mind that looks upon the world and judges it as certain, solid, trustworthy and true believes in two creators; or in one, himself alone. But never in one God.
God's gifts go with you, all unknown to you. You cannot lose them. But you will not look at what is given you. You wander on, going ahead to nowhere. In misery and poverty, alone though God is with you, and a treasure so great that everything the world contains is valueless before its magnitude.
This is your chosen self, the one you made as a replacement for reality. This is the self you defend against all reason. You go on, eyes cast down, unless you catch a glimpse of truth, and be released from self-deception and set free.
Your ancient fear has come upon you now. Christ's hand has touched your shoulder, and you feel that you are not alone. Even the miserable self you thought you were may not be your Identity. Perhaps God's Word is truer than your own. Perhaps His gifts to you are real.
God's Will does not oppose. It merely is.
Now do we live, and cannot die. You are not what you pretend to be. He walks with you, answering all your fears with one reply, "It is not so."
The gifts you have are not for you alone. What He has come to offer you, you now must learn to give. The gifts are yours to give to all who chose the lonely road you have escaped. They do not understand they pursue their wishes. It is you who teach them now. For you have learned of Christ there is another way for them to walk. Let sorrow not tempt you to be unfaithful to your trust.
Your change of mind becomes the proof that who accepts God's gifts can never suffer anything. You are entrusted with the world's release from pain.
Betray it not. Become the living proof of what Christ's touch can offer everyone. God has entrusted all His gifts to you. Be witness in your happiness to how transformed the mind becomes which chooses to accept His gifts, and feel the touch of Christ. Such is your mission now. God entrusts the giving of His gifts to all who have received them. He has shared His joy with you. And now you go to share it with the world.

Lesson 165
Let not my mind deny the Thought of God.
What could keep you from what you already have except your choice not to see it, denying it is there?
The Thought of God created you, it belongs to you, and by it you live. It is you Source of life, holding you one with it, and everything is one with you. The Thought of God protects you, cares for you, lighting your mind with happiness and love.
Your doubts are meaningless, God is certain.
We count on God, not upon ourselves, to give us certainty.

Lesson 164
Now are we one with Him Who is our Source.
What time but now can truth be recognized? The present is the only time there is. Look past time, and see eternity as represented there. Hear the sounds, the senseless, busy world, yet hear them faintly. Beyond them all you hear is the song of Heaven, and the Voice for God more clear, more meaningful, more near.

Lesson 163
There is no death. The Son of God is free.
Death takes on many forms. It may appear as sadness, fear, anxiety or doubt; as anger, faithlessness and lack of trust; concern for bodies, envy, and all forms in which the wish to be as you are not may come to tempt you. All such thoughts are the worshipping of death as savior and as giver of release.
The thought of death seems mighty. It seems to hold all hopes and wishes in its grasp. All things but death are seen as unsure. Death is certain, taking all life as hostage to itself.
Here is the opposite of God, stronger than God's Will for life, changeless constancy. Here is the Will of Father and of Son defeated finally, and laid to rest beneath the headstone death has placed upon the body of the holy Son of God.
Either all things die, or else they live and cannot die. No compromise is possible. The idea of the death of God is so preposterous that even the insane have difficulty in believing it. For it implies that God was once alive and somehow perished.
Death's worshippers may be afraid. And yet, can thoughts like these be fearful? There is no death, and we renounce it now in every form, for their salvation and our own as well. God made not death. Whatever form it takes must therefore be illusion. It is given us to look past death, and see the life beyond.
Our Father, bless our eyes today. We are Your messengers, and we would look upon the glorious reflection of Your Love which shines in everything. We live and move in You alone. We are not separate from Your eternal life. There is no death, for death is not Your Will. And we abide where You have placed us, in the life we share with You and with all living things, to be like You and part of You forever. We accept Your Thoughts as ours, and our will is one with Yours eternally. Amen.

Lesson 162
I am as God created me.
This single thought would save the world. These words are sacred. They are the words God gave in answer to the world you made. By them it disappears, and all things seen within its misty clouds and vaporous illusions vanish as these words are spoken.
Holy is he who makes these words his own. He will save the world, because he gives the world what he receives each time he practices the words of truth.
Today, practice simply, for the words we use are mighty.
