Lesson 139
I will accept Atonement for myself.
I will accept Atonement for myself, for I remain as God created me.
The course says that our task is to "deny the denial of truth" (T-12.II.1:5). "Atoning" means "undoing". The undoing of fear is an essential part of teh Atonement value of miracles.(T-1.I.26)
And from the manual for teachers: "Atonement means correction of the undoing of errors" (M-18.$:6).
We are constantly at war with ourselves. It is ego's strategy to ensure its protection from the quiet memory of God's Love, the worst "enemy" of specialness:
"The memory of God comes to the quiet mind. It cannot come where there is conflict, fre a mind at war against itself remembers not eternal gentleness...." (T-23.I.1:1-6)
