Lesson 93

Light and joy and peace abide in me.

The self you made is not the Son of God. This self does not exist at all. It is neither bad nor good. It is unreal, and nothing more than that. It does not battle with the Son of God. It does not hurt him, nor attack his peace. What power can this self you made possess, when it would contradict the Will of God?

My sinlessness is guaranteed by God.
Your sinlessness is guaranteed by God.

Salvation requires the acceptance of but one thought; you are as God created you, not what you made of yourself. Creation is eternal and unalterable. Light and joy and peace abide in you because God put them there.

You can do much for the world's salvation today. You can do much today to bring you closer to the part in salvation that God has assigned to you, to bring the conviction to your mind that the idea for the day is true indeed.

EVIL spelled backwards is LIVE.
DEVIL spelled backwards is LIVED.
The DEVIL is in the mirror.
The DEVIL is inside.

Is the devil the ultimate manifestation of one's guilt, sin and fear, so heinous that one projects it outward, making it appear one is possessed by pure evil or....

Are Satan and demons real entities, as real as God?
ACIM states God has no opposite. Are there not positive and negative forces at work, beyond our comprehension?

The movie The Rite comes out today. If you have time, check out the link:

I go back and forth on this, if devil is real or not, being raised Catholic. I guess it doesn't matter, just would like to here your thoughts.

Sharon, I suggest that your read “The origin of Satan” by Elaine Pagels. (I have the book you are welcome to borrow it). She is a professor at Princeton Univ and a well known scholar of Gnostic Gospels. Her other works include: “Gnostic Gospels”, “Beyond Belief: The Gospel of Thomas” and etc. Devil is our own creation.

(I will post excerpts in the evening or tomorrow).

ACIM on sin:

“Sin is a block, set like a heavy gate, locked and without key, across the road to peace. No one who look son it without the help of reason would try to pass it. The Body’s eyes behold it as solid granite, so thick it would be madness to attempt to pass it. Yet reason sees through it easily, because it is an error. The form it takes cannot conceal its emptiness from reason’s eyes.” (T-22.III.3:2-6).

Gospel of Mary, NHL: “ Peter said to him, “….. What is the sin of the world? “ The Savior said, “There is no sin, but it is you make sin..”

love or fear that's all there is according to the course.

Sin or a mistake?

Is God limited? Is God's love limited? is there a force that renders God incomplete? Love helpless? Sin Reigns over all? A devil over God?

if ACIM is right, there is only love, sin is a mistake and the devil, evil the ego's concoction...
